My fiber art journey began after I was diagnosed with Raynaud’s Phenomenon—a condition that causes the blood vessels in my hands and feet to constrict, reducing blood flow and increasing my risk of frostbite. Spending long hours outdoors during the winter became difficult, so I began looking for ways to stay productive and creative indoors.
One especially cold day, I remembered a set of knitting looms my mother had given me years before. When I was about twelve, I’d used a small loom to make a few simple projects and learned a few basic crochet stitches. That memory sparked my curiosity to revisit fiber arts, and before long, I was creating cozy pieces for myself and my family.
The more I crafted, the more I fell in love with the process—the soothing rhythm of stitching, the satisfaction of watching something take shape, and the warmth of a handmade piece. Encouraged by my family, I eventually turned that growing passion into a small business: It’s Kendra Paige LLC.
Today, my work is centered around wool—its natural warmth, its comforting texture, and the timeless quality it brings to every piece I make. The sheep I care for provide beautiful fibers. I use my animals to help spread awareness of wool and its wonderful qualities—its warmth, breathability, sustainability, and long-lasting comfort.
I’m also proud to be a member of the West Virginia Grown program, a reflection of my commitment to local, sustainable craftsmanship.
What began as a simple way to stay warm and pass the time has grown into a fulfilling creative endeavor—and I’m grateful for every step of the journey.
